| Structure Fire on Mattox Ave. |
Fri. Jun 25th 2010
At approximately 21:30 Hours, Engine Company 4, Engine Company 1, and Rescue Station 1 were toned out for a structure fire on Mattox Ave. in Placid Bay Estates. Chief 4 requested that Engine Company 2 be added to the call as well. Wagon 4 responded quickly with a crew of 6 and Tanker 4 followed immediatley after. Wagon 4 was first on scene and upon arrival there was no fire showing only smoke coming from windows and doors. Captain 4 took command and with hose and tools in hand, Oak Grove Volunteers headed into the smoke filled house to find the source of the problem. After a few minutes inside the house, Wagon 4 crew found a bedroom that had its contents on fire. With the help of the crew from Tanker 1, the contents of the room were removed and watered down, and the rest of the room and house were checked for further fire and damage. All residents made it out of the house safely with the exception of the family dog, "Scooter", who was found later, safe and alive, by Wagon 4 crew members. All units were clear the scene at about 23:30 hours with minimal smoke and fire damage to the house.
Thank you Enigne Company 2, Engine Company 1, Rescue Station 1 for all your help!
